{"id":2049,"date":"2019-05-28T00:14:36","date_gmt":"2019-05-28T00:14:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gmachronicles.com\/?p=2049"},"modified":"2019-06-20T17:48:13","modified_gmt":"2019-06-20T17:48:13","slug":"10bestgrandkidquestions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gmachronicles.com\/index.php\/10bestgrandkidquestions\/","title":{"rendered":"Top 10 Grandkid Questions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-2050 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/gmachronicles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/IMG_7953-e1561052585356-1024x758.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"758\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If the grandkids are awake, breathing, and on the premises, questions are buzzing like bees swarming a hive in summer. \u00a0There is nothing to stoke the mental agility, touch the heart, and occasionally terrify the soul of a grandparent more than the questions these little varmints hurl at you. \u00a0Here&#8217;s a sample of my Top 10 favorites (with apologies to my old pal <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Late_Show_Top_Ten_List\">David Letterman<\/a>), paired with the often less-than-stellar answers:<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 10:<\/strong> \u00a0<strong>Why do some flowers stand up in pots and others hang down?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>G-ma: \u00a0They&#8217;re made like that. \u00a0They do that on purpose.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 9: \u00a0Why is your hair sticking out like that in the back?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>G-ma: \u00a0Sometimes when you are here I forget to look in the mirror.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 8: Can we sing that song you like?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>G-ma: \u00a0Of course. \u00a0You know I&#8217;ll sing any place, any time. \u00a0But don&#8217;t make that face.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 7: \u00a0Do you like knock-knock jokes?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>G-ma: \u00a0More than life itself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 6: \u00a0What does that button do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>G-ma: \u00a0Ummmm&#8230;maybe it&#8230;or, possibly it&#8217;s for&#8230;actually, I have no idea. \u00a0But I will find out for you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 5: \u00a0Are lightning bugs nocturnal?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>G-ma: \u00a0How on earth did you learn a word like that?<\/p>\n<p><strong>No. 4: \u00a0So, what have you been doing lately?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>G-ma: (So flabbergasted by question I can&#8217;t think of an answer for a couple of seconds. \u00a0Then:). Oh, you know, just the usual stuff.
